On November 16, 2018, the Final project Board meeting took place in Bishkek. The main meeting task was summing-up of Project’s results. On November 15, 2018, DigiLab trainings have been held in Bishkek at the PC classroom of the National Academy of Science. DigiLab software" Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) has been developed with the ICI Projects under the expert support of the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE).

From August 5 till August 8, 2018,  the field mission to Son-Kul Lake took place under the Project’s support. The mission included sampling for following Laboratorial analyses, and cleaning of lake bottom from old fishing nets, as well as clean-up of lake’s coastal line from the garbage.

On April 28, 2018 Project Advisory meeting took place in the SAEPF’s conference-hall. The chairperson of the meeting was Mr. Arsen Ryspekov, National Project Coordinator, SAEPF Deputy Director. The representatives of structural SAEPF’s subdivisions, including Issyk-Kul Administration also took part at the meeting.

On February 1, 2018 in the Conference hall of the State Agency of Environment Protection and Forestry under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic, ICI Projects’ advisory meeting took place. ICI Projects are implemented in the framework of FinWaterWEI II. The participants of the meeting were the Deputy Director, managers and staff of SAEPF; from SYKE – FinWaterWEI II Coordinator and ICI Projects’ managers.

On October 10-20, 2017 in Cholpon-Ata city at the laboratory of SAEPF Issyk-Kul Administration the third phase of POPs (Method for determination of Persistent Organic Pollutants in environmental samples with assistance of  Gas Chromatograph with electron capture defector (GH-ECD).The training was organized in the form of “on-job training”. Trainers were the specialists from SYKE: Mr. Jari Nuutinen and Ms. Anne Markkanen.

Cooperation with DDPSSES Ministry of Health

On August 29-30, 2017 under support of Project, training on fish samples preparation took place. Training was provided by SYKE’s expert Ms. Katri Salonen. Sample preparation was carried out in the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision (DDPSSES) of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between project and DDPSSES.

On August 23-24, 2017 the field mission of Project manager, Mr. Anssi Karppinen Director of Karatal-Djaparyk Natural Reserve, Mr. Bakytbek Choroev to the high Alpine lake of Chatyr Kul near the border between Kyrgyzstan and China took place. The main mission goal was collection of water and sediment samples.

On May  23-25, 2017 practical training on Lab equipment operation took place in the basis of Issyk-Kul territorial Administration SAEPF within the mission of Finnish expert. The trainer was Ms. Olga Kovru, SYKE’s lab expert.  Additional lab equipment and instruments used during training were provided to Issyk-Kul Lab under Project support.

The delegation was headed by Mr. Arsen Ryspekov, Deputy Director of SAEPF, and National Coordinator of project "Capacity Building of the Kyrgyz Republic on Son-Kul Lake status assessment for environmentally sustainable development" (KGZ-Water / Son-Kul).
